In March alone, Vietnam welcomed over 1.3 million tourists.
Visitors chose to fly to Vietnam accounts for 27.9 percent of arrivals during the first quarter of 2018 (Q1) while the number of tourists coming by sea and land was 6.9 percent and 53.6 percent respectively.
Of which, more than 3.1 million visitors are from Asian market. The number of visitors from China increased most by 43 percent, South Korea 69 percent and Japan 7 percent.
Visa exemption program has raised the number of visitors from the European market to Vietnam by 15.4 percent. The number of visitors from Russian increased by 15.8 percent, the UK 14.4 percent, France 12 percent, Germany 9.8 percent and Sweden 20.6 percent.
Tourism revenue totaled VND138 trillion, a year on year increase of 30 percent.
