Vietnam Airlines announces new baggage policy

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines announced new rules on baggage services which will come into effect on August 1.

Accordingly, passengers will be benefited from Vietnam Airlines checked baggage allowance in local and international routes.
Passengers traveling on business class are given a free baggage allowance of one bag weighing a maximum of 32 kilograms on domestic routes and two pieces weighing a maximum of 32 kilograms each on routes between Vietnam and Northeast Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas.
Economy class passengers will be allowed to bring a bag that shall not exceed 23kgs on domestic routes and journeys connecting Vietnam and Northeast Asia, Europe and Australia; and two bags weighing 23 kilograms each on routes to Japan and the Americas.
Premium economy customers can carry a maximum of 2 bags weighing 23 kilograms each on routes from Vietnam to Northeast Asia, Western Europe, Australia and the Americas; and a piece weighing a maximum of 32 kilograms on Hanoi-HCMC route.
The airline also introduced a new rule of hand bags with a 12-kg allowance to customers travelling in Economy Class, instead of the current seven kilograms
Passengers traveling in Premium Economy/Business class are permitted to bring two cabin pieces that must not exceed 18kg of each.
Additionally, a free 23-kg baggage allowance will be presented to passengers who travel to the Europe and Australia from August 1- December 31.
Vietnam Airlines will provide special services to satisfy passengers who travel with excess baggage at the lowest price. The carrier will offer a special offer 50% discount for checked or prepaid baggage.
