S.Korea to issue ten-year visa for Vietnamese citizen

The Korea Tourism Organization announced South Korea will issue ten-year visas to Vietnamese professionals like doctors, nurses,lawyers, professors, people with Masters’ degrees or above earned abroad and graduates who enrolled in four-year-plus programs in South Korean universities.

The new visa policy allows people to extend their stay in South Korea for 90 days and takes effect on December 3.
Residents from 10 other countries are also eligible for the special visa, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and Sri Lanka.
In the first 10 months of this year, it was estimated at 2.6 million Korean visitors to Vietnam, 441,000 Vietnamese visitors to Korea. The number of Vietnamese arrivals in South Korea in 2018 has seen an increase of 42.7 percent compared to last year.
