High-speed ship connecting Mekong delta provinces with Vung Tau launched

People’s committees in the Mekong Delta provinces of Ben Tre, Tien Giang and speedboat operator Greenlines DP yesterday inaugurated a new high-speed ship connecting two provinces with the coastal city of Vung Tau.

Locals in Ben Tre province  will travel from Rach Mieu ferry port in Tan Thach commune in Chau Thanh District while locals in Tien Giang will depart in a harbor riverside Tien River in My Tho City and the pier in Vung Tau is located in Ho May cable car.
The hig-speed boat can travel at 28 nautical mile per hour carrying 132 passengers. Managers can supervise the boat through the camera system.
Two high-speed ships will depart a day. Each trip takes two hours and fifteen minutes, two hours less than by road. A ticket fetches VND250,000 ($ 11 as maximum) and VND140,000 ( minimum).
Fee is waived for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and people with disabilities.
In the inauguration ceremony, director of Greenlines DP operator Nguyen Song Hai said that the company will launch more high-speed boats in the Mekong delta connecting with Vung Tau with the aim to develop sea transport and meet people’s demand of travel.
