Hanoi to ban smoking in Hoan Kiem district’s 30 cultural heritage sites

30 cultural heritage sites in Hanoi, including 16 cultural areas and 14 temples and pagodas in Hoan Kiem district will be smoke-free from October, according to the local authorities.

The district’s smokeless tourist sites also include popular destinations drawing a large number of visitors, such as Ngoc Son Temple, Ba Kieu Temple, Quan Su Pagoda, Ba Da Pagoda, Vietnam History Museum, Vietnam Museum of Revolution, National Library of Vietnam, Hanoi Opera House,  Hanoi Cathedral, Ham Long Church, the historical relic house at 48 Hang Ngang street, Hoa Lo Prison, Thang Long Water Long Puppet Theater, Worker's Theater, House of Heritage on Ma May Street, Old Quarter Exchange Center.
The People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem district has also implemented the smoke-free model in 12 restaurants and 11 hotels.
The smoke-free project will include activities, such as posting "No Smoking" signs, smoking bans in workplaces, public places, issuing fines on individuals who violate the Smoke-free law.
