VN wins gold medal in fencing at SEA Games 2017

Vietnamese fencer Vu Thanh An, who held the Vietnamese national flag at the opening ceremony of the 2017 Southeast Asian Games, yesterday won a gold medal in the men’s individual fencing event.

He excellently defeated Thai competitor Voragun with a victory of 15- 6 to become the winner.

Two years ago, the athlete became the champions of the men’s individual fencing the at the 28th SEA Games. 

At this year’s sport event, he continued to successfully protect the title. 

His companion Nguyen Xuan Loi grabbed a bronze medal. 

Vietnam was temperately  ranked the fourth position in the 29th SEA Games’ medal tally with eight gold, seven silver and ten bronze medals.
