The southern region is forecast to continue seeing heavy rains on June 11-12.
At 7 a.m. this morning, the tropical depression was centered 470 kilometers east southeast of the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands. Strongest winds near the center of the system reached level 7 moving 50-60 kilometers an hour.
In the next 24 hours, it is predicted to move north northwest at 20 kilometers an hour and might intensify into a storm.
The eye of the storm is forecast to be 270 kilometers southeast of Hong Kong (China) at 7 a.m. on June 12 with fury hitting level 8 to travel 60-75 kilometers an hour.
Being influenced by the tropical depression together with southwestern winds, the southern part of the East Sea off provinces from Ninh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Tonkin have been choppy with showers and thunderstorms.
