Big waves caused by tropical typhoon Talas sank tens of fishing vessels in Hon La Bay, reported the National Steering Committee on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the National Committee for Search and Rescue of Quang Trach district of Quang Binh province today.

Statistics showed that around 35 local fishing vessels, one tugboat and one steel shell-ship were swallowed by the big waves.
After receiving the information, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Quang Trach district Nguyen Xuan Dat asked rescuing forces to quickly sail for the area to support fishermen and crew members.
