Accordingly, the 4.5- kilometer long construction and investment project of anti- erosion embankment at Vam Xoay Estuary is expected to quickly start in the forthcoming time.

In addition, local authorities decided to continue building anti- erosion dykes at Rach Goc, Hoc Nang and Ho Gui Estuary respectively.

According to articles by Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspaper, Vam Xoay Estuary is well-known as an extreme erosion hotspot in the Mekong Delta province; therefore, local people living near the dangerous area have been worrying about their safety in the rain and flood season.

Aside from Vam Xoay Estuary, Chairman Nguyen Tien Hai also signed decisions to build a number of anti- erosion embankments along local coastal areas.
