World’s longest cable car ride opened in Phu Quoc Island

Sun Group Inc. launched the world’s longest sea cable car ride Hon Thom in An Thoi Town in the Mekong delta province of Kien Giang’s Phu Quoc District on February 4.

The modern three-cable-line route connects An Thoi Town to Hon Thom Island, the largest one in An Thoi island cluster in the South of Phu Quoc island District.
This Hon Thom cable car ride is the first as well as the most significant item of Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park, the recreational complex being constructed by Sun Group in the Southern area of Phu Quoc.
The 8,900km whole system consisting of 2 terminals, 6 support towers, and 69 cars, each of which has free Wi-Fi access, a lighting system at night, is capable of carrying 30 passengers.
The Hon Thom cable car route makes use of the safest and most modern technology of 3 cable lines. In the case of adverse weather, the system can halt its operation and deliver notice to its passengers.
The route will officially welcome its first passengers on February 14, 2018 (December 29, lunar year of 2018) to transport to the recreational complex.
In the event, Sun Group also gifted the Vietnamese U23 football team VND 1 billion (about $43,920) and a seven-day all-inclusive relaxation package in Marriott Phu Quoc Hotel. An amount of VND500 million ($21,960) was also sponsored to the Young Gifted Footballer Program of Vietnam Football Federation.
