During the last ten days, the railway industry mobilized all means and hundreds of workers to work three shifts a day to repair the damaged rail track as soon as possible.
So far, the first phase of the repair work has been done, however trains may travel with the speed of five kilometers an hour one day before schedule.
Vietnam Railway has asked relevant sides to well prepare human resource, machines and materials to continue the second phase to further fortify the rail track.
Previously, Typhoon Damrey and subsequent flooding badly affected the North South Railway. The stretch in Ca Mountain Pass between Hao Son and Dai Lanh stations was badly eroded, long lasting repair work because of tough terrain.
