Secretary of the Lao Party Central Committee, Head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Training, and President of the Lao National Council for Social Sciences Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune led the delegation to visit Ho Chi Minh City within the framework of a working visit in Vietnam.
City Party chief Nguyen Thien Nhan stressed that the visit took place on the occasion of the 55th establishment anniversary of diplomatic ties (September 5, 1962- 2017) and the 40th anniversary since Vietnam and Laos co-signed Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18, 1977-2017).
The fifth theoretical workshop between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party under theme of “Rapid and sustainable development” has just been organized in Kien Giang province that was considered as a favorable opportunity to strengthen mutual understanding and learning about political theory.
The secretary said that traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in general and Ho Chi Minh City and Lao localities in particular developed sustainably under assistances of the nations’ leaders and people in previous years.
Party, authority and people of Ho Chi Minh City are ready for sharing experience, boosting multifaceted cooperation with Lao localities, contributing to deepen further Vietnam- Laos traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation.
Secretary of the Lao Party Central Committee Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune thanked for the friendly welcome of HCMC Party Committee Secretary; and he pleasured good development of the traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
The Laotian leader believed that the relationship would continue deepening ties between the two countries in the upcoming years.
