Dong Nai's Long Khanh officially upgraded to city

Long Khanh town was officially promoted to a city in the southern province of Dong Nai according to the resolution of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly.

Attending at the announcement ceremony  in Long Khanh Stadium on June 2 were Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee (PCC) and Head of the PCC Commission on Popularization and Education, Vo Van Thuong; representatives of the Central Agencies, leaders of Party Committee, People's Council, People’s Committee and Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province.
In addition, five communes including Xuan Lap, Xuan Tan, Bao Vinh, Suoi Tre and Bau Sen will be upgraded into wards, under Long Khanh City.
Long Khanh city has a total area of 191.64 km2 and a population of about 171,276 inhabitants, 11 wards and 4 communes.
The city shares borders with districts of Xuan Loc, Thong Nhat, Cam My and Dinh Quan.
