Last year, the People’s Committee of Da Nang issued smart city project for the period 2018-2025 with the vision to 2030 including three phases.
To effectively build the city, the project put forward six solutions including supporting leaders and state-run employees to access to technology and IT corporate innovation models which have been really implemented in some localities.
Some highlighted solutions such as Internet of Things (IoT) , smart traffic and smart parking lot, smart buildings to drive energy efficiencies were suggested. The Internet of Things (IoT) offers new opportunities for cities to use data to manage traffic, cut pollution, make better use of infrastructure and keep citizens safe.
Additionally, optimizing aspects such as space and curbing environmental impacts was also mentioned in the seminar.
General Director of Microsoft Vietnam Pham The Truong said that Da Nang City is potential for smart city building because the city has “open policies” creating the best condition for investors in the field of technology plus trained labor forces.
At first, Microsoft will add the city into the post-disaster recovery program as well as children protection in cyberspace program and training teachers.
