That was announced yesterday by deputy chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Le Van Su.
The 14.6 kilometer road built at the total funds of VND150 billion ($6.6 million) was opened to traffic last year.
The department has been assigned to work with relevant sides to continue observing the road’s 130 meter depression stretch and find solutions to repair it.
According to experts, the depression might have been caused by weak terrain in combination with continuous heavy rains.
The road is part of a project to fortify sea dyke from the central province of Quang Ngai to the Mekong Delta province of Kien Giang according to Decision 1667 by the Prime Minister.
Under the project, Ca Mau province has been upgrading 72 kilometers of dykes with the total capital of VND1,697 billion ($75 million). So far, some bidding packages have been implemented.
The road is one of two packages inaugurated last year to celebrate the 20th founding anniversary of the province.
