200 outstanding volunteers honored on celebration of Int’l Volunteer Day

The Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the National Volunteer Center and Vietjet Air yesterday held a press brief to introduce special events National Volunteer Day 2018 on the celebration of the International Volunteer Day 2018

The National Volunteer Day 2018 includes “Good deeds everyday”, National Volunteer Awards 2018 and the first Festival of National Volunteer Clubs, Teams, Groups.
Director of the National Volunteer Center Do Thi Kim Hoa said that to recognize and encourage the development of volunteer groups and club as well as contribution of group and club leaders, the three organizers held the first volunteers festival.
From December 1 to 3, 2018, the festival will take place with the participation of members of 200 clubs and groups across the country. During the festival, there will be a ceremony to honor 200 good leaders who greatly contributed to volunteer activities.
Simultaneously, there will be a forum with the theme “ Volunteer for community health; Volunteer for social welfare; Volunteer for environment protection and climate change; and Volunteer for gender equality.
The event is scheduled to take place in the area of Hoan Kiem Lake (Hanoi) in December 5 with the participation of more than 5,000 local and international volunteer, students, youths at the agencies, schools, members of volunteer clubs, teams, groups, the community.
The highlight of the festival is the award ceremony to honor 10 organizations and 10 individuals who win the National Volunteer Awards 2018.
Besides, 100 volunteer clubs, teams, groups who contribute excellently to volunteering activities for the sake of community will be given certificates of merit.
