Thai Airways rejects reports on cancellation of services to 4 ASEAN countries

Thai Airways International (THAI) has dismissed reports that it will stop flying to four ASEAN countries, namely Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

In a statement from the airline published by Thai media on October 22, THAI President Sumeth Damrongchaitham reiterated that there is no truth to reports that the airline will stop flights to these four countries.
According to him, the company is preparing its corporate strategy, and a thorough analysis must be conducted on all routes based on current market conditions.
At present, the statement said, the carrier has not made any changes to its routes and there are no plans to cease any flights.
Earlier, the local media said the Thai national carrier is considering cancelling six routes connect Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport to Vientiane, Luang Prabang (Laos), Phnom Penh (Cambodia), Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Yangon (Myanmar).
