A team of 150 officers stormed a six-story office building in Cyberjaya, the "Silicon Valley" of Malaysia near Putrajaya on November 20, arresting 680 Chinese nationals aged between 19 and 35.
They seized 8,230 mobile phones, 174 laptops and 787 desktop computers.
This is the largest number of arrests from a single operation this year, Immigration Department Director General Khairul Dzaimee Daud told reporters.
All are believed to be conducting online scam activity targeting mainland Chinese, he said, adding the authorities suspect the activity has been ongoing for six months.
