Japan will maintain its close relationship with the US, he stressed.

Regarding a phone call between Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and President Trump, Suga stated that both sides are arranging an appropriate time for the phone call.

The second DPRK-USA Summit took place in Hanoi on February 27-28, during which a number of issues were discussed, but no joint statement was issued.
