International conference on computational science kicks off in HCMC

The Institute for Computational Science and Technology (ICST) under the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Science and Technology yesterday organized the 4th International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering (ICCSE-4) in HCMC.

Many seminars were held to introduce various topics, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning and Scientific Research by Prof. Ho Tu Bao from the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Studies in Mathematics, Enhanced Sampling Methods For Classical And Quantum Simulations by Prof. Yuko Okamoto from Nagoya University of Japan.

Lately, ICST has been able to attract several Vietnamese experts and scientists after their overseas learning to contribute to the general development of HCMC, achieving impressive results in scientific research. Members of ICST have published more than 240 articles in renowned international journals.

In the upcoming time, ICST will not only boost research on basic science but also focus more on addressing urgent issues in the city such as urban flooding, traffic congestions and  urban pollution.

The conference welcomed nearly 150 scientists and lecturers from the US, France, Belgium, Poland, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.
