The visit marks 45 years since Cuba's revolutionary leader Fidel Castro first visited the central province of Quang Tri -Vietnam in 1973, becoming the first foreign leader to set foot in the liberated area in the south of Vietnam.
This visit contributes to strengthening traditional friendship and bolstering fraternal solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
It is also a chance for HCMC to carry out trade and investment promotion activities between the city and Cuba.
