HCMC wants to boost ties with France

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the city Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan highlighted outstanding contribution of the French Ambassador to the development cooperation in various fields between the two countries.
He also highly appreciated France’s contributions to the European Union - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and hoped that the signing of EVFTA will help promote relations between the two countries in fields of economy, education, culture and among.
For his part, Mr. Bertrand Lortholary said the long-lasting relationship between Vietnam and France, the common vison of global matters, free trade and respect for international law will make a contribution to close ties of the two sides.
The number of French people in Vietnam has reached 12,000 while the number of Vietnamese people receiving French visas sees an increase of 65 percent in 2018 and 50 percent as of present.
He hoped the EVFTA will help Vietnamese goods entering French and European markets and vice versa.
