HCMC ready to receive new investment waves from Japan

HCMC has prepared for receiving new investment waves from Japanese businesses, said chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong yesterday.

Mr. Phong was speaking while receiving Mr. Tokihiro Nakamura, governor of Ehime province, Japan. The governor has returned to HCMC after the latest visit four years ago.
According to Mr. Phong, chemical industry is the strength of Ehime province and this is also one of four major industries of HCMC. So the two localities can boost cooperation in this field.
Besides economics, HCMC hopes to intensify cooperation with Ehime province in education and management on the basic of available potentials.
Mr. Phong believed that HCMC will be an attractive destination of Japanese investors amid the context that ASEAN member economies have cut tariff rates. HCMC has prepared for receiving new investment waves from Japan.
