HCMC launches training on AI application

The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Information and Communications, Department of Science and Technology, the Vietnam National University – HCMC yesterday co-organized a training session for state officers in district level about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its potential implementation in the city.

This is an activity in the framework of the international conference ‘International and Domestic Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Research and Application – Recommendations for HCMC’.

In his opening speech, Director of the HCMC Department of Science and Technology Nguyen Viet Dung stated that this training aims at introducing new knowledge and updating the latest information on AI and its application in research, management, and manufacturing.

Taking charge in this training is a team of prestigious lectures from member universities of the Vietnam National University –HCMC, international experts from leading corporations in the world like GovTech Singapore and Microsoft.

The content of these sessions is a comprehensive view on AI, its implementation, its challenges; AI’s application for image analysis in such fields as security monitoring, traffic control, healthcare diagnosis, river and lake monitoring via satellite pictures; AI’s application for text analysis in the fields of social network information study; and AI’s application in the digital transformation process.

It is expected that the training will allow state officers to implement AI more flexibly and suitably into their normal tasks, actively contributing to the project ‘Transforming HCMC into a Smart City’.
