Cuba learns from Vietnam in updating its economic model

HCMC Party Leader Nguyen Thien Nhan highlighted the Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee’s visit to Vietnam and HCM City particularly that is expected to deepen the friendship and solidarity between the two countries.
He congratulated Cuba’s achievements in building and protecting the country, especially the success of the 7th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
Mr. Nguyen Thien Nhan informed the city’s recent socio-economic development to Ms. Olga Lodia Tapia Iglesias. He emphasized how technological advances and the improvement of the human resource has impacted the building smart city; and problems that the city is facing like climate change, environment, traffic infrastructure and among.
For her part, Ms. Olga Lodia Tapia Iglesias highly appreciated the city’s recent socio-economic development, contributing to the Vietnam’s economic growth as well as Vietnam’s investment in Cuba.
Cuba has been transforming its economic model and learned from Vietnam’s development experiences, she said.
