The 2019 English Olympic for young communist members is jointly organized by the Central Committee of HCMC Communist Youth Union and AMES International English System to improve English skills for Vietnamese Youth in the period 2018-2022, according to the Resolution of the 11th National Congress of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
According to the organizers, the competition this year attracted 23,727 competitors in the first round from 67 provincial, municipal youth unions. 80 competitors were selected after this round.
Competitors had to make video presentations about issues that young people pay attentions to. These issues include their own actions and suggestions for the government’s supporting programs for youth’s integration in globalization, the role of youth in the ASEAN community building and what Vietnamese youth should do to prepare for the ASEAN Chairmanship 2020, what opportunities and challenges to young people in the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, the role of young people in the country’s island protection.
The judges chose 15 excellent competitors and five reservists from unions of the northern provinces of Son La, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Phu Tho, Hung Yen; central provinces of Ha Tinh, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, southern province of Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, the Mekong delta city of Can Tho, the Military youth union and the Ministry of Public Security's Youth Union to attend the national final round.
The final round is slated to take place in October 25 and 26. The final round night will be organized on October 26. There will be one first prize, one second prize, one third prize and encouragement prizes.
Winners will be given cash prizes, online English courses and the opportunity to attend international activities of the Central Committee of Youth Union, and National Committee Youth of Vietnam.
