Thua Thien-Hue’s inter-hospital red alert saves French man

The Central Hospital in Thua Thien – Hue yesterday announced its physicians had saved the life of a French man suffering from chest pain due to myocardial infarction thanks to the inter-hospital red alert.

O.M. Leon Felix was rushed to the hospital on the day with symptoms of chest pain due to myocardial infarction.
Immediately, physicians raised the inter-hospital red alert to call for assistance of their peers from other hospitals. A team of physicians were gathering soon in the night to work together carrying out tests to save the foreign man.
Surgeons performed an operation to place coronary stent in the coronary arteries. The man is in stable condition now.
Deputy Director of the infirmary Dr. Anh Binh said a hospital will use the inter-hospital red alert procedure when admitting a critical patient. Once applying inter-hospital red alert procedure, a hospital will eliminate normal administrative procedure to provide emergency treatment.
