One boy in Dong Nai dies of dengue fever

The health authority in the southern province of Dong Nai yesterday announced additional death of a 8-year-old boy.

The boy from the central province of Khanh Hoa came to Dong Nai Province with his parents to work. He contracted the disease but later he moved to Ba Ria- Vung Tau Province so he was rushed to a hospital in Ba Ria- Vung Tau Province.
Despite physicians’ efforts to save him, he died of dengue fever after three-day intensive treatment.
The health authority in Dong Nai said that medical workers were soon sprayed disinfectant in the neighborhood to curb spreading.
Moreover, health authority increased awareness and dissemination of the disease to locals as well as adopted measures to prevent the spread.
In the last months of the year, the health sector continued applying measures to curb the disease including buying 2,000 liters of chemicals to kill mosquitos and its larva.
The health authority in Dong Nai warned people to raise their awareness of dengue fever as the disease has developed complicatedly with rise in infection cases and outbreaks. Parents should take heed of symptoms in their children.
According to the Dong Nai Disease Control Center, from the beginning of the year to August 29, the province has 12,000 cases of infections, tripling the same period last year including two deaths.
