The Ministry asked infirmaries to provide training to improve skills of anesthesiologists and physicians and nurses in intensive care units so that they can treat deadly complications after receiving injections of an aesthetic for caesarean section.
Departments of Health and infirmaries ought to recheck and report aesthetic-related incidents to the National Drug Information and Adverse Drug Reactions Monitoring Center, the Vietnam Administration of Drug, the health ministry’s Medical Services Administration and the Department of Maternal Health and Children.
Concerning the deaths in the Women’s Hospital, the Ministry pointed out that the two women died after being injected with anaesthetic ampule during c-section surgery.
Presently, related agencies are working on the incident. While waiting for the final conclusion, the health sector in all cities and provinces must take heed of using anaesthetic ampule in c-section surgery.
