Kids under five to receive free vaccine

The Ministry of Health has announced to provide free vaccine in the Expanded Immunization Program for ten contagious diseases for children aged under five years.

As per the program, free vaccination will be for diseases including hepatitis virus B, tuberculosis, tetanus, whooping cough, diphtheria, measles, encephalitis Japan B, rubella, and the Hib vaccine preventing meningitis, pneumonia, epiglottitis, and other serious infections caused by Haemophilus influenzae type B bacteria.
Amongst ten above-mentioned vaccines, two compulsory vaccines are against hepatitis B which must be administered for babies within 24 first hours after birth and vaccine against tuberculosis which must be injected within one month after birth.
Noticeably, the present index of free vaccine cut 13 vaccine kinds including vaccines against hepatitis virus A, mumps, yellow fever, typhoid, chicken pox, Rota virus.
According to a leader of the Department of Preventive Medicine, the change of compulsory vaccine aims to fight against nowadays popular diseases and factors causing diseases in the country.
Additionally, local departments of health will decide vaccine types and the age of children in the index as per its demand or as per the Ministry of Health’s guideline.
