HCMC proposes to shorten second routine shots of AstraZeneca vaccine

The Municipal Department of Health proposed the Ministry of Health to consider and give directions on shortening the gap of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination between the first and the second shots to at least six weeks.

The proposal aims to accelerate the second dose vaccination coverage amid the current complicated and unprecedented situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in Ho Chi Minh City.
Earlier, according to the Ministry of Health's guidance of performing the Covid-19 vaccination and the instructions and recommendation of the World Health Organization for the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, the gap between the first and second shots stretches eight to 12 weeks.
