Construction starts at Vietnam’s first digestive disorder hospital

Construction started at the only digestive disorder treatment hospital in the Mekong delta City of Can Tho yesterday, the first of its kinds in the country.

Trung Son Company yesterday broke the ground for the infirmary. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, company’s chairwoman Truong Hoang Thanh Truc said that Vietnamese people are usually suffer digestive disorder.
Statistically, the proportion of patients with digestive disorder is around 40 percent of total patients a day.
Presently, Vietnamese doctors have made great progress in treating digestive disorder and medical services. Medical institutions in the Mekong delta are well-equipped with state-of-the-art devices to facilitate diagnosis and treatment of the ailment; however, there has big gap between demand and supply in treating the disease.
Deputy Chairman of People’s Committee in Can Tho Dao Anh Dung lauded Trung Son Company in investing in the hospital in Can Tho City. Construction of the infirmary is following the Ministry’s guidance to develop Can Tho into medical hub of the Mekong delta.
Plus, the local government always encourage private company to provide medical services to take care of people’s health, he said.
