Professor Phu said that the Ministry of Health still directed localities to inoculate the vaccine as per schedule. Medical workers should follow immunization procedures as per the Ministry’s guideline.
Presently, only the central province of Binh Dinh stopped vaccination of ComBe Five vaccine after the death of two-month-old baby.
Localities reported that in addition to common vaccination side effects of ComBe Five vaccine such as milk fever, pain or swelling around the point of inoculation, fatigue, kids suffer prolonged high fever and crying.
Some 20 kids experienced serious reactions like convulsion fits and shocks.
All imported vaccines into Vietnam including ComBe Five have been bought in batches which are always tested several times. All meet the safety standard before being administered and licensed. ComBe Five vaccine has been used in 39 nations with 400 millions of dozens before being administered to children.
In health-related news, the cases of dengue and measles are leaped drastically in the southern province of Ba Ria – Vung Tau. The provincial Department of Health yesterday said that in two early months of 2019, the province reported 691 cases of dengue, up by 4.8 times compared to same period last year.
In next time, the health sector in Ba Ria – Vung Tau will actively take steps to prevent diseases in the jurisdiction by quarantining, isolating and dealing with small outbreaks and in vulnerable areas to stop the spread of the disease.
What is more, the province will carry out vaccine administration to all kids as per schedule.
