The girl from the northern province of Yen Bai kept her parents in the dark to have filler injection at a local beauty salon at the cost of VND2 million (US$86.4).
Thirty minutes later, the girl suffered headache, vomiting and her right eye’s vision became worse.
Accordingly, she phoned her parents to take to a local hospital for emergency treatment where transferred her to the National Dermatology Hospital.
Dr. Than Trong Tuy said that the girl went blind in her right eye and suffered skin necrosis after dermal filler injection into the nose to alter its shape, the nostrils or bridge height.
Physicians decided to inject a fluid to dissolve filler in the girl’s nose as well as heal the skin gangrene.
According to the National Dermatology Hospital’s statistics, within two recent years, the hospital has admitted more than 10 complicated cases including two going blind after filler injection.
