Investing in children is to invest in country’s future: President

At a meeting with 58 disadvantaged children at the Presidential Palace yesterday on the occasion of the International Children’s Day (June 1), President Tran Dai Quang asserted investing in children is to invest in the country’s future.

He noted that protecting, caring for and educating children  is a consistent policy of the Party and State because it is a strategic matter in preparation and personnel quality improvement for the country’s development and integration.

According to the President under the policies on children isued by the Party, State and Government there have been achievements in protecting, caring for and educating children. 

President Quang praised 58 needy children at the meeting and all in the country who have overcome their difficulties and demonstrating outstanding academic performances. 

Many of them even won awards in the national competitions.

He also extended thanks to agencies, organizations, and individuals at home and abroad for their donations to the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC), saying that they contribute significantly to the protection, care and education of children in need.

The meeting was co-organized by the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the National Fund for Vietnamese Children and related agencies.
