HCMC marks 36th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day

A ceremony celebrating the 36th anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20) was held on November 16 by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.

Speaking at the event, Director of the municipal Department of Education and Training, Le Hong Son sent greetings to more than 85,000 teachers and educational staff throughout the city.
He highly appreciated the effort, solidarity and creativity of teachers in overcoming difficulties to transfer national cultural quintessence to students, preserve and develop traditional cultural values and contribute to the development of the city’s education sector.
The city’s students have been provided the comprehensive education to develop their talent, thought, creativity and the ability to apply knowledge and skills as well as taking responsibility for their lives, families and society, he added.
On this occasion, 19 excellent individuals received certificates of merit from the Prime Minister. The Ministry of Education and Training presented the medal "For the course of education" to 130 individuals; awarded Emulation Flag to 6 groups; and granted certificates of merit to 42 groups and 49 persons who have outlasting contributions to the country’s education sector.
