Deputy PM asks to revamp management ways in education, technology

At the yesterday working meeting with leaders of the Mekong delta province of Dong Thap, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam requested to revamp management ways in the education sector and technology which play significant role in the country’s growth.

After listening to reports, the Deputy PM asked the local government to actively resolve the problems by flexibly applying the current policies. Especially, education needs a revamp including teaching and learning method, fresher course for teachers and curriculum update with a focus on skills.
The most important thing is to change management way between the Department of Education and Training and its sub-divisions and teaching methodology.
It’s high time to revamp teaching methods which get obsolete, said Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam.
Lauding the province’s pioneer in building new models such as ‘Farmer’s Club’ (a place for farmers to meet and share experience in agriculture), Mr. Dam proposed expanding the good models in internet so that other provinces can follow.
Being one of rice-basket province of the country, Dong Thap focuses on fostering application of technology in producing to lift the agricultural values.
During the period of 2016-2019, province leaders have implemented 27 scientific and technological projects with the total value of VND53 billion (US$2.3 million), 13 of which worth VND19.2 billion relating to agriculture.
Regarding the education and training, the province has poured investment into developing facilities and human resources for all study levels.
Annual spending on the education and training is VND3, 200 billion (US$138 million), taking up 27 percent of total local state budget.
