Coursebooks with ‘nine-dash line’ to be withdrawn

The Hanoi University of Business and Technology November 3 decided to withdraw all the coursebooks of the Chinese language courses after finding out that the materials include a map containing the illegal ‘nine-dash line.
The maps containing illicit nine-dash line in the coursebooks named ‘Developing Chinese’ for freshmen in Hanoi University of Business and Technology (HUBT)'s Chinese-Japanese Department had stirred up the public.
The Vice Rector of HUBT Vu Van Hoa announced to withdraw about 500-700 books.
The books were published by Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) and approved by the Chinese-Japanese Department for the academic year 2019-2020.
Previously, HUBT lecturers and students had had a refresher course in Beijing to understand the new coursebooks.
