Tien Giang province’s contestant wins 14th Chuong Vang Vong Co singing contest

Quach Thi Diem Ngoc, 29, from the Mekong Delta province of Tien Giang won the 2019 Cai Luong Singing Contest called Chuong Vang (Golden Bell) Vong Co which ended at Ho Chi Minh City Television Theater on September 29.

The Silver Bell Award and Bronze Bell Award went to Le Hong Trang and Phan Thi Hoang Oanh respectively. The third prize belonged to Nguyen Thi My Tien. Pham Huyen Tram and Tran Thi Bich Ngoc earned the fourth prizes.
The organization board also presented the Audience Choice Awards to Pham Thi Phu and Quach Thi Diem Ngoc, and Press's Choice award to Pham Thi Huyen Tram.
The competition kicked off in Ho Chi Minh City on August 4. The jury selected 9 most excellent candidates to compete the Golden Bell Award and Silver Bell Award in the final round.
Meritorious Artists Kim Tu Long, Phuong Loan and Que Tran joined the contest as coaches of the 14th edition. The jury members in the final night were Meritorious Artists Minh Vuong, Hoa Ha and Thanh Tuan.
The annual Chuong Vang Vong Co Cai Luong Singing Contest is organized by Ho Chi Minh City Television. Besides discovering young talent, the annual competition also aims at keeping alive the tradition of Cai Luong and fostering a love for folk opera among young people.
