French film promoting Vietnamese beauty premiered

"Ciel Rouge" (Red Sky) directed by French director Oliver Lorelle will make its debut in Hanoi HCM City in the end of June.

Ciel Rouge’s filming locations include Ba Be Lake in Bac Kan province and Dong Van, Meo Vac in Ha Giang province.

The film tells the love story between a French soldier and a young Vietnamese woman, who is fighting for national independence. It also promote Vietnamese natural beauty of the country which is a major theme of the movie. The war is a background story to accentuate the tale of love between the two main characters.

Olivier Lorelle won the César Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2007 for Days of Glory (Indigènes)  and was nominated in 2012 for Best Adaptation with Omar Killed Me.

Director Oliver Lorelle and female lead character of the film, Audrey Giacomini will participate in an exchange with audiences at the screening. Audrey Giacomini  is a Vietnamese - French actress and model , known for Mr. Nobody (2009), Polaroid Song (2012) and Mantra (2015).

The film will be released in France on July 19 and screened in Vietnam starting in October.
