Pop singer Tuan Hung’s livestream has attracted a large number of his fans. He wrote in the Facebook post announcing the performance and hoped to collect money to support frontline health and social staff who are key to combating the coronavirus outbreak.
His fan, Pham Nguyen sent a comment on the livestream that he wanted Hung to sing a song as a gift for his wife, a health worker in Bach Mai Hospital. He didn’t known when she will come back home.
Another audience, Tran Dai Duong was touched by lyrics in the song "Ngay cha gap con" (They day father meets son/daughter). His wife just gave a birth and he could not return Vietnam from Japan due to coronavirus.
In spite of global pandemic, artists are taking performances online including singer Tuan Hung who took his music to audience in a powerful emotional live show, said Meritorious Artist Xuan Bac.
After the livestream, Hung collected more than VND100 million (US$4,200) to donate to staff of the health care sector and armed forces together with people who contribute to the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Singer Duc Tuan also organized an online mini concert commemorating later musician Trinh Cong Son while veteran pop star Cam Van sang her hit songs on a show on April 2.
Young singer Duc Phuc has set up several livestreams to sing for his fans. Music is known as a spiritual therapy that helps people to stay calm and relaxed when self-isolating or working from home, he said.
A series of concerts has been canceled or postponed while theaters are temporarily closed due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. Arts and music are spiritual therapy which can lighten the burden of the life.
Live streaming on social media platforms has grown in the world and Vietnam particularly. Live-streamed mini performances on social media connect artists directly with fans just from a distance. We should encourage this trend at present, singer Tung Duong said.
Duong saw some impressive performances under the conditions of modern technology by international artists. He said that it is not easy for the locals to carry out live-streamed shows on social media like that. However, we should focus on the sense of responsibility, connection and sharing as well as helping audience enjoy arts and creating a place for artist to play music and exchange with people.
Tung Duong and his friends are planning to organize an online mini performance to introduce some his songs.
Via livestreams, artists not only express their inspiration of singing and exchanging with fans, but they also show the social responsibility and community during self-isolation, added musician Huy Tuan.
Online concerts are not required to meet requirements of a perfect quality and a well preparation of sound, lighting or costumes, but the reality, close connection, intensity of feelings and emotion, said the musician.
Musician Quoc Trung plans to release a homemade music video featuring the latest song "Binh Minh" (The dawn) which is written by him and musician Luu Ha An.
The song will be performed by pop star Thanh Lam along with musicians and singers of Quoc Trung, Thanh Phuong, Hung Cuong, Hai Bang, Luong Ngoc Chau, Thai Chau, Thu Hang, the Ngan Ha (Galaxy) band. Artists have worked with each other by using cellphones and email, and made video at home.
