2019 Autumn Melody concert opens at city’s opera house

The biennial music festival titled “Autumn Melody” 2019 opened with a performance titled “Yesterday’s Memory” at HCMC Opera House on August 17.

The opera in the German and English languages was performed by artists of the Ho Chi Minh Ballet, Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) and directed by French-German theater director David Hermann and director Anna-Sophie Weber from Austria under the baton of local conductor Tran Nhat Minh.
The 9-day long event will consist of 8 performances, including the show by Viet Nam's most famous pianist, People’s Artist Dang Thai Son and HBSO’s artists under the baton of conductor Tran Vuong Thach to wrap up the last day of the program.
Music lovers will have a chance to enjoy well-known masterpieces of symphonic music, ballets and operas, contemporary dancing, and Vietnamese classic works.
This year’s event will see the participation of world’s famous artists, including classical pianist Dang Thai Son, French-German theater director David Hermann, director Anna-Sophie Weber from Austria,  German vocal master Askan Siegfried Geisler, choreographers Joost Vrouenraet of the Netherlands, artist Marika Meoli , the  International Chamber Players from the US, the Eine Flute Ensemble of South Korea.
Vietnamese artists, such as People’s Artist Ngo Hoang Quan, Dr. Vu Viet Chuong, artist Nguyen Thien Minh, conductor Tran Nhat Minh will share the stage together at the concert.
Since it began in 2005, the annual ‘Autumn Melody’ concert has received a lot of support and contributions from hundreds of local and foreign artists, and regarded as a place for Vietnamese and foreign musicians to meet and exchange the latest in music news, and where music lovers can have a great experience. The music show is organized every two years starting 2013.
