HCMC honors over 1,600 individuals, organizations for good tax payment

The HCMC Taxation Department yesterday organized a ceremony to honor 300 organizations, 1,377 businesses and individuals for well conducting their tax obligations in 2016.

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Finance, the city People’s Committee, the General Department of Taxation and the HCMC Department of Taxation commended and rewarded the above organizations, businesses and individuals.
Head of the HCMC Department of Taxation Tran Ngoc Tam said that last year the community of businesses in HCMC strived to overcome difficulties and contributed VND200 trillion (US$8.8 billion) to the state budget, accounting for 103.8 percent of estimates and increasing 10.48 percent over the same period last year.
This year, the city Taxation Department will continue fostering administrative reform, sharing difficulties with tax payers and assisting them to develop production and trading to obtain socioeconomic norms.
Deputy chairman of the city People’s Committee Tran Vinh Tuyen appreciated the contribution by businesses to the city’s budget and development. Businesses and individuals’ cooperation and awareness of responsibility in conducting tax obligations have contributed to the city’s completion of state budget targets.
Therefore, the city commits to always siding with enterprises to solve difficulties, remove barriers and create the most advantageous conditions for them to develop, he said.
Sai Gon Giai Phong Newspapers was also commended for good tax payment in 2016.
