Vietnam promotes tourism in Russia

A delegation of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) will participate in the 2018 Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (MITT 2018), slated for March 13-15 in Moscow, Russia.

At the event, the VNAT will promote the “Vietnam – Timeless charm” slogan as well as tourism products which are expected to draw many Russian tourists, including sea and islands tourism, medical tourism, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions) tourism and ecotourism.

The delegation will also introduce new contents of Vietnam’s tourism development strategy and seek more cooperation between Vietnamese businesses and travel firms along with news agencies of Russia and other countries.

The VNAT sees Russia as a key tourism market. The country is viewed as a safe and friendly destination with sandy beaches, sunny weather and high-end resorts, and rich culture and gastronomy that can attract Russian visitors.

Over 2.86 million foreigners were estimated to visit Vietnam in January and February, up 29.7 percent from the same period in 2017, according to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism said it aims to serve between 15 and 17 million foreigners and 78 million domestic travellers this year, with total revenue expected to hit VND 620 trillion (US$ 27.28 billion), up 21.35 percent on year.
