VietjetAir takes off

New carrier VietjetAir launched its first commercial flight in Ho Chi Minh City Saturday with an Airbus A320-200 plane departing Tan Son Nhat International Airport for Hanoi.

New carrier VietjetAir launched its first commercial flight in Ho Chi Minh City Saturday with an Airbus A320-200 plane departing Tan Son Nhat International Airport for Hanoi.

The plane with more than 100 passengers on board touched down at Noi Bai Airport at 11am after two hours’ flying.

A welcome ceremony was held at Noi Bai, attended by representatives of the new carrier, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

VietJetAir operates four flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi every day in the initial period, and the number will be increased to 14 early next year, according to representatives of the airline.
