Hotels and restaurants in Russia are hiking up their prices ahead of the tournament in June and July, tourist agents told.
A 8-12 day tour to Russia costs from VDN70-80 million (US$3,000-3,500) per person, not including tickets for the matches and attractions entry. Several travel companies have received 20-25 groups of visitors to Russia in June and July.
Meanwhile electronic appliance centers have launched promotional programs ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
Cho Lon electronics supermarket has offered discounts from 10-50 percent on refrigeration products and home appliances, and launched a program letting customers exchange old televisions for new ones.
Customers who buy TV at Dien may Xanh (Green Electronics) will have a chance to win a Ducati motorcycle. Nguyen Kim Electronic Supermarket is also offering many discount programs on electronic goods.
Mobile retailers, The Gioi Di Dong (Mobile World) and FPT Shops, and online shopping websites are offering a discount from 3-8 percent and valuable gifts.
Fashion and gift shops are selling clothing and soft stuffed plush toys of Wolf Zabivaka, the official mascot of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
