Mekong should focus development of five national tourist sites: PM

The Vietnamese Prime Minister has just approved a subregional development plan for the Mekong River Delta by 2020 with a vision towards 2030.

Thereby, the region is expected to receive around 23 million domestic and international tourists by 2020 with total turnover of VND 25, 000 billion, and 52 million arrivals by 2030 with its total turnover of VND over 110, 000 billion respectively.

The PM calls on exploiting the regional potentialities and taking tourism advantages in developing tourist services such as tour operation on river systems, ecological tours, trips to learning about cultural heritages and historical revolutionary sites etc etc…

The relevant agencies should focus on developing the national tourist sites including Thoi Son islet (Ben Tre), Phu Quoc in Kien Giang, Nam Can- Ca Mau Cape, Lang Sen Reserve and Tram Chim Park in Long An and Dong Thap.
