Master Chef Martin Yan Visits School of Hotel and Tourism in HCMC

Before traveling to the coastal city of Phan Thiet, Chef Martin Yan and his fellow-travelers from Hong Kong’s Chinese Travel Service and Association of Photography paid a visit to the School of Hotel and Tourism in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday.

Mr. Yan skillfully displayed his talents while creating traditional Vietnamese dishes including goi hoa chuoi (banana blossom salad), ga nuong muoi ot (grilled chicken with salt and red pepper), xoi chien phong (fried sticky rice), canh chua (sour fish soup), cha gio (crispy spring rolls) and chao tom (grilled shrimp paste). For his efforts, Mr.Yan received a certificate from the School.

“Viet Nam is a beautiful country, with great food and friendly people”, he said. Mr. Yan has volunteered to act as a cultural bridge promoting Vietnamese food to the world.

His visit to the school is hosted by Saigontourist. The tour is a combination of sightseeing and short courses in the preparation of Vietnamese cuisine.
