Lot of flights canceled, delayed because of bad weather

A lot of domestic and international flights have been canceled or delayed because of bad weather in Vietnam and other Asian nations over the last two days.

On July 13, the low cost carrier VietJet Air was forced to change the schedule of flights from and to Cat Bi Airport in the northern city of Hai Phong. Flights from Ho Chi Minh City could not land at the Cat Bi Airport and had to shift round to Hanoi.

Rainstorms have affected not only domestic but also international flights of the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.

The airline had to cancel 40 flights from HCMC to Pleiku and Da Lat in the central highlands from July 7-12, delay other 50 flights to Tuy Hoa, Con Dao, Chu Lai, Hai Phong, Vinh, and Dien Bien, said Le Truong Giang, Vietnam Airlines spokesman.

Flights between Tan Son Nhat International Airport and Shanghai, Guangzhou Airports in China and others in South Korea and Japan were also affected.

Passengers should regularly update information about flights on websites of the airlines because the weather will not be better in the next few days, the airlines announced.
