Jetstar Pacific cancels flight due to overloading at TSN Airport

Jetstar Pacific representative said that the flight BL519 had to be cancelled on February 14 because Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport was overloaded at the time.

As per normal schedule, a flight of the budget carrier carrying passengers from HCMC to Phu Quoc, in Kien Giang Province, was scheduled to take off at 6.45 PM yet the airport has many other flights at that time; consequently, Jetstar Pacific’s flight delayed to 7.40 PM and the flight from Phu Quoc to HCMC was delayed until 9.30 PM.

The flight arriving in Hai Phong Province of carry passengers of the delayed flight BL519, was initially scheduled to take off from Cat Bi International Airport at 1.40 pm on Tuesday; however, due to the overloading, pilots and stewards have attended flight in long hours as per safety regulation; the flight was hence cancelled.

The carrier apologized for the cancellation and each passenger was given VND400,000 ($17.86) in compensation. Passengers were told to board another flight departing at noon on February 15.
